Antoine Francois J. Marchal is the African Conservation Strategist of Rainforest Conservation Trust, in charge of developing new projects.

In the first week of February, 2023, Antoine visited a number of institutions and conservation sites across the country, including GRC-LG, CSSL, Gola Rainforest National Park, Tiwai Island, Kambui Hills Forest Reserve and Turtle Island in the south and east of Sierra Leone. He also visited some relevant government institutions including the forestry division of the Ministry of Environment and National Protected Area Authority and the CSSL Secretariat in Freetown. The purpose was to familiarise himself with the current challenges faced in the conservation and environment protection sector, and determine possibilities of future strategic partnership to support the sector.

Thanks to CSSL for successfully facilitating most of Antoine’s trips to the various institutions and sites.
